Position Title: Assistant Football Coach – Linebackers
School: Cardinal Ritter College Preparatory High School
Reports To: Head Football Coach / Athletic Director
Job Type: Seasonal / Stipend Position

Position Summary:

Cardinal Ritter College Prep is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Football Coach to work specifically with the  linebacker unit . The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of linebacker play, demonstrate the ability to mentor and motivate student-athletes, and uphold the mission and values of Cardinal Ritter College Prep both on and off the field.

Job Responsibilities

• Instruct and develop linebacker-specific techniques, responsibilities, and reads within the team’s defensive system.
• Assist in planning and conducting daily practices, film sessions, and position meetings.
• Evaluate linebacker performance through film review and provide constructive feedback.
• Support the Head Coach in implementing game strategies and adjustments.
• Assist in coordinating strength and conditioning development for linebackers.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with players, coaches, and parents.
• Help ensure the academic success, character development, and overall well-being of student-athletes.
• Attend all team events, including practices, games, meetings, and school-related functions as required.

Uphold MSHSAA regulations and Cardinal Ritter standards of sportsmanship and conduct.

Job Requirements

• Previous experience coaching linebackers at the high school or collegiate level is preferred.
• Strong understanding of defensive football concepts, schemes, and linebacker play.
• Ability to build strong, respectful relationships with student-athletes and fellow coaches.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• A commitment to the values of discipline, accountability, and teamwork.
• Must be able to pass a background check and meet Archdiocesan requirements for coaching.
