Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant to join a dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting business clients by ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions, maintaining ledgers, and handling payroll processing. This is an in-office position, so you'll have the opportunity to collaborate closely with your team in a professional and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate ledgers and reconcile accounts.
Monitor and record expenses, including cash receipts.
Process accounts payable by matching purchase orders with vendor invoices, preparing payments, and managing bank balances.
Review and reconcile franchise financial records to ensure accuracy.
Handle accounts receivable by scanning and depositing checks, coordinating bank deposits, and generating financial reports.
Access client accounts (e.g., online banking, credit card accounts) to track transactions, gather data, and download statements.
Prepare and process payroll for clients on a regular basis.
Assist in calculating and preparing quarterly and monthly tax returns, including payroll, operating, and business taxes.
Run monthly financial statements, including cash flow reports, P&L, trial balance, income statements, and balance sheets.
Compile tax returns and contribute to the overall success of the team's efforts.
Preferred Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. An accounting degree is a plus, but not required.
At least 5 years of experience in general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and income tax procedures.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) is preferred.
Familiarity with payroll software and filing local tax returns, such as e-TIDES.
Experience working with multiple clients and franchises is a plus.
Excellent communication skills with a professional, client-focused attitude.
