Job Description

Summary

The Chief of Staff will support the overall success of Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (CLINIC) through improved information flow and increased collaboration and coordination between sections. The Chief of Staff will support the organization to achieve optimal resource allocation and greater efficiency in follow-through and action.

The Chief of Staff is responsible for leading, supervising and managing the operations of the agency in alignment with direction from the Executive Director and Deputy Director. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Chief of Staff will serve under the supervision of the Executive Director and work in close coordination with the Deputy Director and other senior leaders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operations and Efficiency

  • Ensure the integrity and sustainability of internal systems and infrastructure.
  • Oversee accountability systems to ensure project completion in alignment with organizational strategy and emerging needs.
  • Increase efficiency, identify areas of improvement across the organization and make actionable recommendations.
  • Supervise Directors of Finance, Operations, Human Resources and the Executive Assistant

Implementation of Strategy and Policies + Greater Coordination

  • Assist Executive Director and Deputy Director in strategy implementation and investments that support the long-term health and sustainability of the organization.
  • Support senior leaders with coordination, tracking interdependencies, resolving creative tensions and more robust systems for internal communication.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders on effective implementation of programs and policies.
  • Leading meetings and workshops with meticulous planning and coordination.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders in setting key performance indicators to measure success in impact of work.

Direct Support to Executive Director and Deputy Director

  • Support Executive Director in scheduling, time management and tracking all priorities.
  • Oversee preparation of key information to prepare the Executive Director for participation in external speaking engagements, partner meetings, and state and national advocacy efforts.
  • Track and ensure completion of priorities as assigned by the Executive Director and Deputy Director

Cross-Sectional & External Collaboration

  • Facilitate internal coordination between the Rapid Response Team and other CLINIC sections.
  • Develop relationships and serve as liaison between external partners, advocacy organizations, and legal service providers.
  • Manage internal processes for rapid response and public comments.
  • Identify gaps in available resources and propose solutions to enhance CLINIC’s services and relationships, internally and externally.
  • Represent CLINIC at conferences, hearings, stakeholder meetings, and in public engagements as needed.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

  • Master’s degree or higher in related field.
  • Eight (8) or more years of experience in senior management or executive role.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to ensure information and direction are clearly conveyed.
  • Effective and trustworthy leadership as demonstrated through experience managing people, projects and outcomes.
  • Experience improving organizational efficiency through effective time management and establishing effective criteria in setting priorities
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and highly adept at addressing competing priorities, workplace conflicts and challenges with partners.

Salary Range

  • $125,000 - $130,000
