Controller – Real Estate Development Willamsburg (Onsite Only)$150,000 - $180,000 BOE

Position Overview

We’re hiring a hands-on Controller to take full ownership of financial oversight across our fast-growing real estate development platform. This is a senior finance seat with direct responsibility for cash management, forecasting, budgeting, expense tracking, and capital reporting —and it requires someone who can bring clarity, control, and strategic visibility to our financial operations.

You’ll be expected to manage multiple moving parts across bidding, contracting, payroll, vendor payments, partnership structures, and financing needs. Trust, accountability, and attention to detail are critical —you’ll be the person leadership relies on to ensure everything adds up and makes sense.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee books and ensure accuracy across all accounts
• Manage cash flow, cash forecasting, and banking relationships
• Prepare capital reporting for partners and lenders
• Provide insight into expense patterns and improvement opportunities
• Oversee payables and AR/AP staff
• Ensure financial logic and clarity across project bidding, contracting, and payroll
• Support reporting needs for a shared investment portfolio (Rabsky representation)
• Deliver clear monthly/quarterly financial reports to ownership and partners

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Controller or senior finance leader
• Deep understanding of accounting, cash flow, and financial reporting
• Strong Excel, reporting, and budgeting/forecasting skills
• Real estate experience is a plus—but not required
• Clear communicator and highly trustworthy

Must-Haves

• 5+ years of experience in a senior accounting or controller role
• Ability to take full financial ownership of a business unit
• High trust, high integrity, highly reliable
• Office-based (not remote)
• Yiddish speaking preferred
