Description Tyler Houk (Practice Director) with Robert Half is looking for an experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of our organization in Fresno, California. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and developing strategies to optimize financial performance. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to supporting the organization's growth in the agriculture industry. Responsibilities: - Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance. - Manage month-end closing processes to guarantee timely and accurate reporting. - Collaborate with leadership to create financial strategies, including risk management and forecasting. - Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely payments and collections. - Oversee the preparation and issuance of financial statements and operational metrics. - Maintain and upgrade accounting systems to improve efficiency and functionality. - Provide guidance and training to the accounting team to foster growth and development. - Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate a smooth annual audit process. - Monitor and manage debt levels, ensuring compliance with covenants and timely payments. - Evaluate financial performance by analyzing variances, cost metrics, and operational budgets. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience. - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software. - In-depth knowledge of managerial accounting, budgeting, and cost control practices. - Demonstrated expertise in job costing, process costing, and inventory reconciliation. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. - Excellent organizational and decision-making abilities, with independent judgment capabilities. - Experience in preparing financial statements and managing month-end close processes. - Effective communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and lead a team.
