We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team on a long-term contract basis working remotely. This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in Sage Intacct and construction accounting to resolve post-implementation challenges and streamline financial processes. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing workflows, improving compliance tracking, and enhancing reporting capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and resolve project setup issues, ensuring accurate use of pricing structures and streamlined change order updates.
- Optimize billing and invoicing processes by simplifying workflows and developing custom invoice templates tailored to various billing scenarios.
- Address compliance tracking gaps by improving lien waiver creation and management, including automation for state-specific requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify frustrations and implement tailored solutions for construction-specific workflows.
- Design dashboards and reports to provide visibility into critical financial metrics, such as budget limits and project performance.
- Train staff on improved workflows and Sage Intacct functionalities to support change management initiatives.
- Develop clear documentation and user guides to facilitate long-term system adaptability.
- Evaluate and implement solutions to apply markups correctly and generate accurate project financial reports.
- Streamline manual processes by introducing automation and creating efficient workflows for contract and billing operations.
Requirements - A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a Controller or senior finance/accounting role, preferably within the construction industry.
- Proven expertise in implementing and optimizing Sage Intacct, particularly in project management, billing, and compliance modules.
- Hands-on experience with Sage 300 and familiarity with challenges related to system migrations is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of construction-specific accounting practices, including T& M, Contract, and Gross Max Price structures.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a focus on training and capacity-building for operational teams.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Knowledge of lien waiver regulations and compliance requirements across multiple states is a plus.
- Familiarity with system integrations or third-party tools to enhance Sage Intacct functionality.
