Cedar Park Group is seeking an Electrician to plan layouts and install, maintain, test, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control equipment, and distribution systems in accordance with specifications and State/local electrical codes.
Schedule: 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday–Friday
Type: Full-time, 2-year contract
Plan layout, install, and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment.
Plan new or modified installations to minimize material waste, allow access for future maintenance, and ensure safe, reliable wiring per code.
Prepare sketches showing wiring/equipment locations or follow diagrams/blueprints, ensuring concealed wiring is installed prior to wall/ceiling/floor completion.
Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install conduit using tools (hacksaw, pipe-threader, conduit bender).
Pull wire through conduit and splice wires by stripping insulation, twisting or soldering, and applying tape or terminal caps.
Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment using hand tools.
Install control/distribution apparatus (switches, relays, circuit-breaker panels) using hand and power tools.
Connect power cables to equipment (ranges, motors) and install grounding leads.
Test circuit continuity and system safety using instruments (ohmmeter, battery/buzzer, oscilloscope).
Observe system operation to detect hazards and determine needed adjustments, relocation, replacement, or repairs.
Troubleshoot and repair faulty equipment or systems as needed.
At least 5 years of experience installing and repairing electrical wiring, conduit, fixtures, and control/distribution equipment.
Ability to read and work from diagrams, blueprints, and sketches.
Strong knowledge of State and local electrical codes and safe work practices.
Skilled with conduit installation, wiring pulls, splicing, grounding, and electrical testing tools/instruments.
