Federal Contracts Associate Attorney
Practice Area: Government Contracts
Location: Washington, D.C.
Schedule: Onsite or Hybrid depending on firm policy; full-time with typical billable requirements (~2,000+ annually)
Salary: Estimated base range of $215,000 to $280,000 with annual bonuses generally $20,000 to $65,000+ , depending on seniority and performance.
The Client:
The Washington, D.C. team handles disputes, compliance, bid protests, and transactional issues for clients across the defense, technology, aerospace, and infrastructure sectors. You will advise clients on all aspects of federal procurement law, including bid protests before the GAO and Court of Federal Claims, contract claims and disputes, False Claims Act investigations, and compliance with FAR and DFARS requirements. The role will also involve transactional support for M&A deals with government contract considerations. You will work closely with industry-leading practitioners, gain substantial client exposure, and develop specialized expertise in a critical regulatory field.
Qualifications:
JD from an accredited law school; DC Bar admission or eligibility required.
Preferred class years: 2018–2022 (mid-level) or 2015+ (senior lateral).
Experience with federal procurement law, bid protests, or contract disputes.
Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, and other federal contracting regulations.
Strong research, writing, and negotiation skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential client matters.
Litigation or regulatory background in a related sector a plus.
