Position Purpose
As a direct report of the Director, Human Resources, the Human Resources (HR) Generalist is a key contributor to the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources (HR) department. The Generalist collaborates across various HR functions to shape a positive workplace culture and ensure smooth Human Resources operations. This team member holds various talent management responsibilities in support of the full employee life cycle and key HR operations including, but not limited to onboarding, benefits, payroll and HRIS administration, compliance, recruitment, engagement, retention and development. The HR Generalist works closely with managers and staff to ensure a positive, fair, and engaging work environment, aligning talent strategies with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America's mission, values, vision and organizational objectives.
FSLA Status: Full Time, Exempt
Location: Continental United States (100% remote, based in East Coast Time Zone)
Travel : Approximately 5%

Skills and Knowledge: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills; Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines; Solution-oriented; advanced analytical and problem-solving skills; Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate; Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality; Thorough, current knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations; Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software; Proficiency with (highly preferred) or the ability to quickly learn HRIS and talent management systems. UKG a plus but not required; Familiarity with non-profit sector challenges and HR best practices; Passion for supporting a mission-driven workforce.
