We have an exciting opportunity for an Information Technology Specialist I, focused on Application Development in our Emerging Technologies and Integration Services Office. This position plays a key role in supporting the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the FI$Cal system. As part of our Emerging Technologies and Web Services team, you’ll provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise focused on the continued improvement and stability of this critical system.

In this role, you will be responsible for system analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, and ongoing support. You’ll also work closely with stakeholders to document system functions and processes, resolve operational issues, and ensure that the system continues to meet evolving business needs while incorporating modern technologies and industry best practices. While this position is focused on software and system engineering, you may also take on tasks in other IT domains as needed.

Statement of Qualifications

Statement of Qualifications (SOQ)

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required and must be submitted with your application. The SOQ serves as a documentation of each candidate’s ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing.

When completing the SOQ, you must title the page “Statement of Qualifications” and list the question, providing your answer below. Be sure to explain your answers thoroughly,  including all relevant experience, education and training. The SOQ must be typed in 12- point Arial font and be no more than 2 pages in length with correct grammar use,  punctuation and spelling. Your SOQ must address the following:

1. Describe your experience working on development projects. In your response, please include your role, the implementation process, the methodologies or frameworks you used, the programming language involved, and any enterprise application experience you have.

2. Describe your approach on collaboration with technical and non-technical teams. Provide examples of how you have acted as a communication bridge between stakeholders and IT staff  - particularly in the areas of collaboration, documentation, requirements gathering, development, and support processes.
