Job Description

Valley Catholic High School, a member of the OSAA 4A classification and a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon, has an   opening for a JV Girls Basketball coach.

Start Date: Season starts mid November through March

Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Essential Job Functions:
The basketball coach will work in accordance with the mission of Valley Catholic School and the philosophy of its Athletics Department. Responsibilities include planning and conducting practice sessions, setting game line-ups, and administering games.

Qualified candidates have previous experience coaching basketball and a passion for teaching fundamentals, teamwork, ethics and sportsmanship. In addition, they have a history of positive influence and interactions with players, coaches, and parents and have the ability to communicate effectively with parents, administration, students, and staff.

Special Requirements: 
1 . ASEP/NFHS and Coaching Certifications (including First Aid/CPR and Bloodborne Pathogen as well as all Archdiocesan required training and certifications.
2. Knowledge of technical aspects of the assigned sport and willingness to continue to learn and examine new ideas pertinent to coaching and the assigned sport.
3. The person employed for this position must be able to verify identity, employment authorization, complete a background check, and complete a fingerprint check.
