Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor - San Jose, CA
Compensation: $114k - $150k per year
Overview: Nexus HR is looking for a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor for our client in San Jose, CA. This role is part of a Functional Restoration Program for chronic pain patients in a highly collaborative environment, working alongside a wide variety of professionals and specialists.
About the Job
The Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor will provide direct psychological clinical services to injured workers through multiple modalities, including initial assessments, case management, psychoeducation classes, and both individual and group psychotherapy. A typical caseload will involve patients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and issues related to physical pain. Experience with art therapy is a plus, as it is a component of the program.
The position also involves partnering with the clinical team to assess current treatments, identify opportunities for improvement, and participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and case conferences. Therapists will work closely with the pain management team to ensure patients receive high-quality clinical care. Familiarity with documentation within the Worker’s Comp system is preferred, as the majority of patients served are injured workers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide individual therapy (e.g. CBT) to adult clients in an outpatient chronic pain clinic
Conduct weekly psychoeducational sessions for individuals attending the Functional Restoration Program (FRP) at the clinic daily
Provide brief individual therapy to individuals in the FRP and evaluate their clinical progress in the program
Assessment and treatment planning for active caseload
Provide clinical care informed by best practices in the field of pain psychology
Refer to other modalities within the clinic as needed
Document all client care in our EMR system (IMS)
Provide clinical care that complies with all the legal and ethical standards
Qualifications :
One or more of the following: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Psychologist (PsyD or PhD)
Art Therapy certification or experience is preferred
Experience in Workers’ Compensation Cases is highly preferred.
Work well in an interdisciplinary team as well as independently
Excellent communication skills with patients and staff
Ability to adapt to diverse patient needs and challenges
Committed to evidence-based practices, leveraging innovation and proven methodologies
Compassionate, patient, and passionate about helping others
Bilingual Spanish is strongly preferred
