Now Hiring: Part Time Visitor Experience Guide I

Schedule: Combination of weekdays, weekends and some holidays.

Location: Nashville, TN

Compensation: $15.00 per hour

As a  Visitor Experience Guide at the Andrew Jackson Foundation, you will welcome guests and lead engaging tours of our historic property. Your role will involve providing insightful historical interpretation and excellent customer service, while ensuring an educational and memorable experience for all visitors.

What you will be doing:

• Welcome and orient visitors to Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage.
• Provide engaging history-based tours for a wide range of visitors.
• Answer visitor questions relating to Andrew Jackson’s life and legacy, family and properties, and the enslaved African Americans that worked at the site.
• Participate in training programs for Visitor Experience Guides.
• Assist physically challenged and non-English speaking visitors.
• Provide physical security for the mansion and assist visitors in emergency situations.

What you will need:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Interest in history
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Courtesy and tact in dealing with the public
• Ability to interact with all ages, nationalities, and those who are physically challenged
• Professional demeanor
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to stand for long periods of time; climb stairs; work outside in all types of weather.

Pay Range: USD $15.00 - USD $15.00 /Hr.
