Job Description

The Production Manager will oversee the Streamline production department, including scheduling, resource allocation, staff management, and quality control. This role ensures timely delivery of high-quality products that meet customer expectations. Streamline production teamsencompassing Heavy Assembly and Light Assemblybuild various automated equipment, including electrical control panels, hydraulic power units, and electromechanical systems. The Production Manager will supervise Production Supervisors and Technicians, ensuring efficient and reliable manufacturing processes through work direction, training, and guidance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads and manages the production team to maintain a safe, efficient, and productive work environment.
  • Ensures compliance with safety regulations and quality standards throughout the production process.
  • Supervises and collaborates with Production Supervisors on hiring, training, disciplinary actions, and performance reviews of Heavy and Light Assembly staff.
  • Develops and implements production schedules to optimize resource allocation and meet customer demands and deadlines.
  • Monitors production processes and workflows, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborates with engineering and design teams to ensure manufacturability of new products and smooth transitions from design to production.
  • Analyzes production metrics and prepares performance, quality, and efficiency reports for upper management.
  • Provides training and development opportunities for team members to foster skill enhancement and promote continuous improvement.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing and assembly processes and schedules.
  • Assists the Engineering department during production downtime, including design input, selecting components, developing BOMs, and minor drawing updates.
  • Oversees quality assurance processes, ensuring all jobs are inspected and tested to meet standards.
  • Assures daily compliance with safety practices, procedures, and company ISO guidelines.
  • Monitors production schedules and job orders, adjusting staffing and inventory needs accordingly.
  • Tracks project costs versus estimates, analyzing material and labor usage to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education and Experience:

    • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
    • 510 years of experience in production management within the machinery or manufacturing industry.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including high-mix/low-volume and low-mix/high-volume production.
    • Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 manufacturing environments.
    • Experience wiring and assembling electrical control panels.
    • Proficient in electrical control and power distribution, with the ability to read electrical prints and schematics.
    • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and measurement techniques.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop diverse teams.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across departments.
  • Technology Proficiency:

    • Proficient in production management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools.
