Job Description
Job Summary (Python Developer):
- Design, develop, and maintain automation tools using Python and legacy Perl scripts for device asset discovery, data collection, and reporting.
- Enhance and optimize existing scripts to improve workflows and integrate new technologies into network change management.
- Translate operational and functional requirements into effective automation solutions.
- Perform tooling audits and implement necessary remediation to ensure operational coverage.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver robust network automation solutions.
- Conduct regular assessments to identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in network automation and scripting.
- Utilize strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, ACLs, VLANs, routing) in automation tasks.
- Work with Ansible Tower/Automation Platform to create and manage playbooks for network configuration and validation.
- Apply in-depth understanding of RESTful APIs, methods, and authentication mechanisms.
- Use version control systems (Git, BitBucket, GitHub) for code management.
- Integrate automation solutions into CI/CD pipelines following software lifecycle principles.
- Manage data storage and retrieval using database management systems like MongoDB.
- Write clear and concise documentation for users and developers.
- (Preferred) Build APIs using frameworks like Flask or Django.
- (Preferred) Hold relevant networking or Ansible certifications (CCNA/CCNP, RedHat Ansible).
