Job Description

About Supergut:

Supergut is redefining the human health trajectory — from the inside out. Backed by clinical science and powered by prebiotic fiber, our products are designed to improve gut health, balance blood sugar, and support metabolic and hormonal wellness. It’s often said that the gut is your second brain and wellness starts in your digestive tract.  As a mission-driven health and wellness brand, we’re building community through meaningful experiences, operational excellence, and culture-shaping storytelling.

About the Role

As our Quality Control Manager, you’ll ensure the highest standards of product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across our entire portfolio. You will build, manage, and maintain the quality systems that support our rapid growth, protect consumer safety, and uphold brand integrity. This role is hands-on, collaborative, and critical to scaling a reliable and compliant manufacturing network across multiple co-manufacturers. Regular travel to co-manufacturer and raw material supplier locations is expected.

If you think big, move fast, and execute with excellence, we’d love to meet you.

What You'll Do

  • Ensure all manufacturing partners maintain robust quality control procedures aligned with FDA, GMP, and internal brand standards.
  • Create, update, and manage quality documentation - including specifications, SOPs, quality manuals, and technical files.
  • Maintain complete batch records, traceability systems, and document control processes, including renewals and expirations.
  • Support regulatory inspections, third-party certifications, and compliance submissions.
  • Manage quality standards for raw materials, in-process checks, and finished product testing.
  • Oversee analytical testing programs with co-manufacturers and third-party labs for quality and safety.
  • Review and approve certificates of analysis (COAs),  testing reports, and release documentation.
  • Develop and manage product-specific stability protocols and track long-term results.
  • Investigate quality deviations, non-conformances, and customer complaints, ensuring timely root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Lead quality investigations, including adverse events or side-effect reports, and escalate concerns as needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across quality systems, documentation, and manufacturing processes.
  • Support mock recalls and develop recall readiness procedures.
  • Qualify and audit contract manufacturers, raw material suppliers, and testing partners.
  • Conduct facility inspections, supplier quality audits, and performance evaluations.
  • Review and approve supplier quality agreements, specifications and corrective action plans.
  • Partner with R&D to define product requirements, vendor specifications, and material release criteria.
  • Prepare quality reports, summaries, and updates for management and regulatory bodies.

What You'll Bring

  • 3-5+ years in quality control or quality assurance within supplements, food, beverage, or related regulatory industries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, food science, biology, or a related field.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Strong working knowledge of FDA and GMP requirements for dietary supplements.
  • Experience with analytical testing methods, quality testing practices, and third-party testing labs.
  • Familiarity with contract manufacturing environments and managing external partners.
  • Experience in high-growth, fast-paced, or early-stage environments is a plus. Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for health, wellness, and mission-driven brands, with alignment to Supergut’s values and vision.

Why You’ll Love Working at Supergut

  • 100% remote-first team with flexible work hours.
  • Mission-driven company making a real difference in people’s health.
  • Collaborative, fast-moving environment with room to innovate.
  • Competitive compensation, medical, dental, and vision benefits, matching 401K and monthly wellness stipend
  • The chance to help grow a purpose-led brand from the ground up.
Compensation
This position has an expected salary range of $100,000 - $115,000.
