Remote Human Resources Manager Location Remote in California :

The Role:

We're seeking a strategic, compassionate, and experienced Human Resources Manager to lead and enhance our HR operations. This role is crucial in driving talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, policy development, and offboarding. You'll also play a key role in researching and implementing HR software solutions to streamline processes. This position is 100% remote , though occasional travel (4-5 times per year) may be required for in-person meetings. We are only hiring in California at this time.

Dealer Image Pro provides hardware, software, and training to auto dealers so they can capture high-quality inventory content and quickly get it online. We are a small, bootstrapped company that has experienced rapid growth over the past several years.

The Problem You're Solving:

As our company grows, so do the complexities of managing a fully remote, multi-state workforce . We need a proactive, strategic HR leader who can develop scalable HR systems, ensure compliance across various states, and foster a positive and high-performing work culture . As a department of one, you'll own the entire HR function — balancing strategy and execution — to support our team and drive the company's long term success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Talent Acquisition & Onboarding - Develop and execute hiring strategies to attract top talent, ensure smooth onboarding, and support long-term retention.
  • Employee Relations & Performance Management - Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, resolving issues, fostering engagement, and ensuring a strong feedback culture.
  • Compensation & Benefits - Oversee salary benchmarking, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws across multiple states.
  • Policy Development & Compliance - Ensure company policies align with best practices and legal requirements in all states where we operate.
  • HR Technology & Systems - Research, implement, and manage HR software to improve efficiency in hiring, payroll, benefits administration, and performance tracking.
  • Offboarding & Transitions - Develop respectful and effective processes for employee exits, ensuring compliance and continuity.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources, with 3+ years in an HR leadership or management role .
  • Extensive expertise in California employment laws and multi-state HR compliance in a remote work environment.
  • Experience managing hiring, employee relations, performance management, and benefits administration .
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or an equivalent HR certification).
  • Experience with HR software selection and implementation
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Compensation:

  • $85,000 - $100,000/year , depending on experience
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance (50% for employee, 0% for dependants)
  • 401(k) plan
  • 15 vacation days per year
