Job Description
The Residential Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of a residential care facility serving individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or behavioral disorders under ODP 6400 Regulations. This position ensures that the facility operates in compliance with all regulatory requirements, providing high-quality care, supervision, and support to individuals in accordance with their Individual Support Plans (ISPs). The Residential Manager is responsible for managing staff, maintaining a safe and supportive environment, and working closely with families, service providers, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with ODP 6400 Regulations and other applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Supervise and provide leadership to direct care staff, ensuring they are trained, supported, and perform duties in alignment with policies and regulations.
- Oversee the implementation and monitoring of individualized care plans and ISPs for each resident.
- Provide direct support and supervision to residents, ensuring their safety, well-being, and personal development.
- Conduct regular assessments of residents' needs, making adjustments to care plans as necessary.
- Manage the daily operations of the residential facility, including maintaining cleanliness, orderliness, and a homelike environment.
- Monitor and track the health and medication needs of residents, ensuring proper documentation and reporting of any medical or behavioral changes.
- Ensure that all incidents are documented and reported according to agency policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and reviewing policies and procedures that ensure high-quality care and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with external service providers, families, and other stakeholders to ensure that residents’ needs are met and concerns are addressed.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and provide performance feedback to team members.
- Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and training of new staff members.
- Ensure that all required documentation, including training, incident reports, and care plans, are completed accurately and on time.
- Prepare and manage budgets for the residential care program, including cost-effective purchasing and resource allocation.
- Provide on-call support as needed for emergency situations and to ensure continuous operation of the facility.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Nursing, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in residential care for individuals with intellectual disabilities or related populations.
- Knowledge of ODP 6400 Regulations and other relevant state and federal regulations.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and external partners.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to respond to crisis situations calmly and effectively.
- Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire).
- Must pass criminal background check, child abuse clearance, and drug screening.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position, with occasional evening or weekend hours required.
- The position may involve physical tasks, including lifting, and assisting residents with mobility.
