SAP ABAP Techno-Functional Developer

We’re seeking a Senior SAP ABAP Techno-Functional Developer to lead the technical design, development, and support of SAP Finance and Controlling (FICO) systems. This role is ideal for someone who is technically strong in ABAP and development tools but can also work cross-functionally with business users to optimize finance-related processes. You’ll partner with global stakeholders to ensure scalable, reliable SAP solutions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and enhance SAP solutions with a focus on ABAP development , including custom reports, enhancements, user exits, BAPIs, BADIs, and forms (SmartForms, Adobe).
Perform ABAP debugging , performance tuning, and code optimization in support of SAP FICO and related modules.
Translate complex business requirements into efficient technical solutions within the SAP ecosystem.
Collaborate with business teams to support and maintain configuration in SAP FICO components such as GL, AP/AR, Treasury, Taxation, Asset Accounting, Cost Centers, Internal Orders, and Profitability Analysis.
Support integration across core SAP modules including SD, MM, and PP through interface development and troubleshooting.
Contribute to data migration activities using tools like LSMW, BAPIs, or custom programs, ensuring data integrity across financial processes.
Drive system improvements and help shape the SAP technical roadmap alongside business and IT leadership.
Create and maintain clear technical and functional documentation for all development work.
Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance on SAP development best practices.
Ensure all development work aligns with compliance standards including GAAP, IFRS, and internal controls.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years' experience with SAP FICO and strong ABAP development skills.
Proficiency in ABAP development including user exits, enhancements, BAPIs, BADI, ALV reports, and forms.
Experience with SAP Object-Oriented Programming and knowledge of SAP development architecture.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Familiarity with SAP integration points across SD, MM, and PP.
Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to work across global teams and time zones.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is only available for current Continental employees.
Willingness to travel internationally or within the Americas (up to 10%).
Preferred Experience
Experience with SAP S/4HANA, including exposure to upgrades or migrations.
Familiarity with Fiori apps, CDS views, SAP BTP, and modern SAP UX tools.
Solid understanding of financial processes in a multinational environment.
Interest or experience in automation, AI, or innovation within the SAP landscape.
