The Position
The Cancer Immunology Department is seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientific Researcher to perform discovery research in the area of inflammation and cancer. The successful candidate will implement and apply cellular immunology, single cell sequencing, gene-editing, proteomics, and mouse models to elucidate disease pathways and identify nodes for therapeutic intervention, and will be expected to make intellectual as well as technical contributions to the team. Responsibilities: participate in the discovery and investigation of large and small molecule drug targets, perform exploratory disease-oriented research; independently design, execute, analyze and present studies to various forums within the Department and across the wider Research organization.
Qualifications:
The successful applicant will have a PhD in immunology, molecular biology, biochemistry or related field and 2+ years experience in an academic or industry laboratory setting. Candidates must have a documented record of professional achievement in the form of impactful publications, and must be familiar with immunological principles and techniques including primary cell isolation, cell culture and flow cytometry. A strong background in T cell immunology and experience studying gene regulation and function in primary cells, including CRISPR, are highly desired. Good oral/written communication skills, creative problem-solving flexibility, and the ability to integrate detailed analysis into a larger disease-oriented context will be expected.
