SOC 2 Gap Assessment Project Manager Remote

A growing organization is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a SOC 2 Type 2 gap assessment initiative. This role drives cross-functional coordination, control evaluation, and remediation planning to ensure audit readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the SOC 2 gap assessment from planning through completion.
• Coordinate IT, security, HR, legal, and operations to gather evidence and assess controls.
• Work with external auditors/consultants for audit readiness alignment.
• Maintain project plans, remediation logs, risk trackers, and status updates.
• Identify gaps against SOC 2 Trust Services Criteria and manage remediation efforts.
• Report progress, risks, and readiness indicators to leadership.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in IT compliance, audit, or risk program management.
• Strong knowledge of SOC 2 frameworks and audit processes.
• Experience with GRC tools.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management.
• PMP, CSM, or similar certification is a plus.
