Salary Range: $98,000 - $145,000 annually

This is a Hybrid or full-time Remote position. It’s a Hybrid role if you live in the Central Illinois area, which requires you to be in the Peoria, IL office Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday with the option to work from home Monday and Friday.

As a Social Media Director at Simantel, my objective is:

To lead social activation for our clients while building and scaling social media as a true service line for the agency. I bring a “social-first” mindset into creative, strategy, and content development, ensuring that Simantel remains at the forefront of the evolving digital landscape.

The Outcomes I Need To Produce For Clients Are

  • Clients achieve measurable growth in awareness, engagement, and conversions through social media activations
  • Clients trust Simantel to deliver strategic, timely, and trend-driven campaigns that reflect a true social-first approach
  • Clients receive proactive recommendations that align with emerging platforms and consumer behaviors, with clarity on when to leverage internal capabilities or external specialists for maximum results
  • Partner with client engagement and creative leads to ensure social strategies are seamlessly integrated into existing campaigns and client programs, enhancing overall impact


The outcomes I need to produce for the agency are:

  • Social media becomes a fully defined and scaled service line, integrated across client engagements
  • Simantel is recognized as an agency that brings social-first thinking to every aspect of creative and strategic development
  • Internal teams gain confidence and capability in delivering social-first strategies through my leadership, mentorship, and thought leadership


To Produce These Outcomes, I Need To

  • Lead the activation of social media campaigns across industries, ensuring best-in-class delivery
  • Serve as Simantel’s in-house expert on social media, helping teams’ level up their knowledge and approach
  • Stay “in the know” about trends, emerging platforms, and shifts in audience behavior – and bring forward the right opportunities for clients at the right time
  • Determine when to leverage Simantel’s internal expertise and when to engage external specialists to optimize results
  • Champion a social-first mindset across creative, strategy, and content development
  • Mentor and lead social media team members while collaborating cross-functionally with client engagement, creative, and analytics teams
  • Define KPIs for campaigns and report on results, using insights to refine and evolve strategies


The Skills And Abilities I Require Are

  • Deep expertise in social media strategy, content, activation, and paid/organic integration
  • Strong leadership and people management abilities to scale both a team and a service line
  • Exceptional ability to educate and elevate peers, serving as a trusted internal authority
  • Ability to lead and collaborate on social media concepting around strategy and content types
  • Aptitude in collaborating with social influencers and other vendors to support content creation
  • Proficiency in identifying and evaluating emerging platforms, tools, and trends
  • Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Google Analytics, platform-native insights)


To produce these outcomes, I have decision-making authority over the following:

  • Development and execution of client-specific social media strategies
  • Recommendations for when to use internal vs. external resources
  • Allocation of paid vs. organic strategies within campaigns
  • Internal education and recommendations on emerging social opportunities
  • Declining initiatives that do not align with social-first strategy or client outcomes

  • Expansion of Simantel’s social media capabilities within client engagements
  • Increased confidence and skill in social-first thinking across internal teams

  • Client retention and growth tied to social media strategy and activation
