Job Title: Structural Steel Engineer (P.E.)

We are currently searching for a Structural Steel Engineer for our customer, a leading engineering firm specializing in the design and detailing of structural steel systems for industrial, commercial, educational, and wastewater treatment projects.
Position Summary:
An experienced Structural Steel Engineer with a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Michigan. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in structural steel design and analysis, with a proven track record across multiple project types. Multi-state certifications are highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform structural analysis and design of steel structures for industrial, commercial, educational, and municipal facilities.
Develop calculations, drawings, and technical specifications in accordance with applicable building codes and standards (AISC, ASCE, IBC, etc.).
Coordinate with architects, fabricators, contractors, and project managers to ensure design intent and constructability.
Review and approve shop drawings, connection designs, and field modifications.
Conduct site visits and inspections as needed to verify structural integrity and compliance.
Mentor junior engineers and detailers providing technical guidance to project teams.
Prepare and stamp engineering drawings and documentation in compliance with state regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Michigan required.
Additional state P.E. licenses a plus.
Minimum 7+ years of experience in structural steel design and engineering.
Proficiency with structural design software such as RISA, STAAD, or RAM Steel, and familiarity with Tekla Structures, or Revit a plus.
Strong understanding of AISC design codes, connection detailing, and fabrication processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail; and ability to work in a team environment.
