The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable to new frameworks and tools, and passionate about advancing test automation practices. While the current framework is built in Java using Selenium and Cucumber, we are exploring migration paths to Playwright and improved requirements traceability using tools like QMetry. This role offers an opportunity to directly impact the direction of the automation ecosystem while contributing as a strong individual contributor within an Agile environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement automated test cases across UI, API, and back-end layers to ensure system stability and reliability.
  • Support integration of automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline (Jenkins, GitLab).
  • Contribute to the overall testing strategy, including traceability between requirements, test cases, and results.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and document issues discovered during automated and manual testing.
  • Monitor the health of the test automation framework and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure alignment of testing efforts with system requirements.
  • Execute existing manual test procedures where necessary and document findings.
  • Support Agile ceremonies and practices in alignment with SAFe methodologies.
  • Use Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) for documentation, source control, and tracking development activities.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 2–5 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with at least 2 years of experience.
  • Hands-on experience developing automated tests using Selenium and/or Playwright.
  • Experience with Cucumber (or similar BDD frameworks).
  • Strong understanding of software testing phases including planning, functional, regression, and performance testing.
  • Experience testing web applications across UI, service, and back-end layers.
  • Proficiency in Java with familiarity in additional languages such as JavaScript or Python.
  • Experience with Git/GitLab for source control, pull requests, and code reviews.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins and Ansible
  • Ability to work independently, debug complex issues, and deliver high-quality results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
  • Active SCI clearance or active Top Secret (eligible for SCI) clearance
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain CI (Counterintelligence) polygraph
  • All candidates must be US CITIZENS to be considered for the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with test case traceability tools such as QMetry or Zephyr.
  • Experience validating system/service functionality using SOAPUI, Postman, Mockito, or similar test tools.
  • Familiarity with identity, credential, and access management (ICAM) concepts and standards, including:
    • LDAP or Active Directory
    • PKI
    • OAuth
    • OpenID Connect (OIDC)
    • SAML
    • SCIM
    • Multi-factor Authentication (MFA)
  • Experience in identity management and governance (single sign-on, identity federation, enterprise directory architecture).
  • Experience with web development frameworks such as React or Redux.
  • Security+ Certification (or ability to obtain).
