What you'll do:
Each day in the life of a TV Operations Manager/News Production Manager is sure to be different as you are relied upon to troubleshoot, problem solve and collaborate with other departments to achieve the common goal of executing daily newscasts seamlessly! We will count on you to maintain quality and discipline during show productions, so your attention to detail is key. You will oversee master control for not only KXLY but also our sister stations KAPP.KVEW located in Yakima/Tri-Cities. What you'll bring:
We're looking for a full-time creative and engaged individual with a passion for broadcasting to be a part of our team. A valid driver's license and at least three years of Master Control experience preferred. Two years of college or technical school, along with technical directing experience preferred. SBE Operator Certification is preferred as well. Good communication skills and the ability to work well with people. General responsibilities include performing on air switching, program recording & prep, monitoring network transmissions for quality control, overseeing generation and execution of automation playlists, troubleshooting and resolving realtime situations in a timely fashion, direct newscasts, interacting with television logs, overseeing FCC EAS, Children's Act, CALM Act and Disability Act functions, coordinating TV programming record sheets, creating and supervising employee schedules, editing packages for news and create graphics for newscasts, on air switching and video tape operations, along with other Master Control functions. Technical Director for local newscasts. This position must be available for all shifts. You'll train and work closely with our experienced staff and have a unique opportunity to do it all…production, master control, newscast directing, and graphics (which is why working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Premier Pro software experience is important). Excellent computer skills, effective communication skills and the ability to be calm and diplomatic under stressful situations with shifting priorities is a must. Physical demands of the position include the ability to lift and carry 40 pounds and climb stairs, color vision and auditory acuity, must be able to cover any shift as necessary and sit for extended periods of time.

Pay range: $26.44/hour - $28.85/hour.
