Role Summary

Rivian’s Facilities Technology team is looking for a talented UI/UX Designer to craft intuitive and streamlined user experiences for our internal enterprise application. This role requires a strong foundation in user-centered design principles and the ability to transform complex business requirements into seamless, user-friendly interfaces.

Collaborating closely with product and engineering teams, the UI/UX Designer will manage all aspects of product design, from initial concept to final implementation. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in leading product designs within enterprise applications and will deliver an exceptional user experience that enhances internal productivity and efficiency.

Our enterprise application supports facilities, business operations, finance, and other cross-functional teams in managing and reporting on the broader facilities portfolio. This role will work directly with key stakeholders in real estate, design, construction, facility operations, finance, and other teams.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to understand user needs and pain points.
  • Develop user personas and user journey maps.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and user flows to visualize and test design concepts.
  • Develop and maintain design systems and style guides.
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and stakeholders, to define requirements and iterate on designs.
  • Present design concepts and prototypes to stakeholders.
  • Manage all product designs and maintain design documentation.
  • Support additional design needs, including training materials and video tutorials.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience as a UI/UX Designer, preferably working on enterprise applications.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
  • Strong proficiency in industry-standard design and prototyping tools, primarily Figma.
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing with stakeholders.
  • Excellent visual design skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to explore a variety of ideas and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, up to executive level.
  • Familiarity with construction industry tools (e.g., Procore, Autodesk) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Google Suite (e.g., Sheets, Docs, Drive) is also preferred.
  • Portfolio demonstrating UI/UX design experience is required.

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for Palo Alto, CA based applicants: $117,200 - $146,500 annually (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location and other factors permitted by law).

Salary Range for Irvine, CA based applicants: $107,800 - $134,800 annually (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time and part-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Full Time Employee coverage is effective on the first day of employment. Part-Time employee coverage is effective the first of the month following 90 days of employment.
