Job Description

Acara Solutions is seeking a CNC Engineer - Fixture Design for our client in Erie, PA ! 

We are seeking qualified candidates with:

• Strong experience in CNC mill fixture design 
• A background in programming and manufacturing support 
• High mechanical aptitude and a desire to continue learning

Here's what you'll do:

Program

• Create programs and fully document (setup sheets, etc.) for each job.
• Assist & troubleshoot machining issues that occur in manufacturing.
• Manage and order tooling as needed.
• Assist setup of first runs of new parts and help train machinists.
• Revise existing programs to improve cycle time, tool life, and quality.
• Program & document laser marker jobs.

Fixtures

• Design and construct drill jigs & fixtures for manufacturing with engineering support as needed.
• Work with Design Engineers & Machinists to efficiently improve current machining fixtures.
• Ensure fixtures are in good repair and producing quality parts.

Design and Project Management

• Work with Engineers to determine critical features of new parts before designing, testing, and refining machining fixtures.
• Consult with Assembly & Engineers to design safe, ergonomic, and time-saving assembly fixtures and devices; improve and update current assembly methods.
• Work with Engineers to establish efficient machining sequences.
• Suggest design changes to improve manufacturing times, reduce costs, and improve quality.
• Value analyze assemblies to simplify and reduce cost.
• Make suggestions for more effective machines, fixtures, tooling, layout, and participate on improvement teams.
• Assist with managing new equipment projects including machine selection, plant layouts, and tooling selection.

Position Type: Direct Placement  

Salary:  Up to $80K/yr. **Depending on experience     

Schedule: M-F Flexible 1 st shift hours **100% Onsite

Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working as a CNC Setup Machinist.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with CNC mill fixture design.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

• Post-secondary Degree or apprenticeship in CNC Machining is preferred.
• Knowledge of Aspire programming software. 
• Continuous improvement mindset.
