Job Description

We are looking for an energetic Dietary Aide to join our growing team! The right candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively and be able to provide excellent customer service to our residents. Responsibilities

• Must be able to communicate and function in an interdisciplinary team.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must possess willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must practice dependable, regular attendance.
• Must be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment.
• Must be knowledgeable of dietary services practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing dietary services functions in the long-term care facility.
• Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Food and Nutrition Services department.
• Must be able to assist in daily cleaning duties. (i.e., sweeping, dishwashing, mopping).
• Must be able to serve meals and snacks in a timely manner.
• Must be able to properly set up meal trays, food carts, dining room, etc.
• Must be able to deliver food carts and trays and remove them when meal is finished.
• Must understand and follow company policies, including harassment and complaint procedures.
• Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.

Qualifications * Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, perform simple arithmetic, and understand measurements and conversions * Previous experience in nursing home food service preferred, but not required * Ability to plan, organize and set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards * Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers.
