Job Description

What You’ll Do

• Prepare Cross Section SEM (XSEM) samples using cleaving or microcleaving techniques and image them using FEI/Thermo Fisher SEM tools to meet the dynamic needs of process engineers
• Successful technicians may continue on to learn some of the following techniques: Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (STEM), FIB-SEM cross sectioning, and Electron Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (EDS/EDX)

Who We’re Looking For

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a physical science or similar technical field
• Excellent manual dexterity and meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to work a night shift schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

• Work experience operating SEM tools or optical microscopes
• Work experience cleaving silicon wafers
• Knowledge of the physics involved with FIB/SEM tools, such as vacuum systems, voltage/current effects, and ion sputtering behavior
• Familiarity with key developments and materials in the semiconductor industry
• Experience in customer IP protection

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
