We are looking for a Materials Integration Engineer to join our Digital Print Materials R&D team in Rochester, NY. The successful candidate will be a hands-on chemical engineer, materials scientist, or chemist.

In this role, you will integrate coatings and inks for current and future generations of inkjet writing and printing press systems for the packaging market. This individual will be responsible for carrying out well defined formulation and process development trials and commercialization of these imaging materials. Hands-on process development experience and a track record of mapping out a range of performance attributes and balancing these across system requirements is a must. Frequent travel to customer and partner sites to support system integration and conduct acceptance trials is expected.

Required Skills/Experience:B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or related field required. Masters degree desired
3-5+ years of post-graduate industrial work experience
Clear decision making to optimize packaging materials across a large range of requirements to ensure meeting product schedules with the best materials and process technologies available.
Knowledge of polymers, additives and materials required
Experience with multiple modes of coatings applications, including gravure, spray, and flexo coating technologies highly preferred
Knowledge of packaging technologies and principles highly preferred
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multi-functional team environment that covers development with internal and external partners.


Desired Qualifications:Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
Experimental design skills and a strong knowledge of analytical and physical property testing methods.
Knowledge of inkjet printing systems, inkjet inks, and primers.
Proficient computer skills including statistical analysis of experimental data.
Leadership of joint development projects.
